Ph.D. Program

Purpose of the Program: Within the scope of this program, to train researchers and practitioners who can carry out original and independent studies in the academic environment and make important scientific contributions to the field, to provide academic experience to students, academicians, and administrators who want to carry out scientific research in the field of science, to meet new researchers in the field where faculty members work. It is aimed to help doctorate students to share their knowledge and experience and thus gain the ability to conduct qualified scientific research and to enable doctoral students to develop projects on subjects directly related to the field of economics, thanks to the research education they receive.

Importance of the Program: The program is capable of closely following the economic and social developments in our country and in the world and making predictions by interpreting sector and country data; It is important in terms of educating economists with the quality needed by the society, business world and academia, and will contribute to scientific activities that will expand the research horizon of economics.

Application Requirements: Graduates with a master's degree in Economics or Econometrics can apply to the program. In addition, applicants must have at least 60 ALES EA points, at least 55 YDS points, and at least 60 points from the interview exam.

Skills Gained and Academic Accumulation: Students studying in this program will have the ability to classify, analyze and evaluate advanced conceptual and applied knowledge in the field of economics within the framework of the scientific method; will constantly improve themselves by following the technological developments in their field with analytical thinking, scientific inquiry, and problem-solving skills; will gain the ability to propose an economic policy to the environment with the ability to make effective economic comments.

Graduation Requirements: The program consists of 240 ECTS credits, including 7 courses in total, a seminar course, a proficiency exam, thesis proposal and specialization courses to be taken during the thesis study. Seminar course, specialization course, a proficiency exam, thesis proposal, thesis work are non-credit and students are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. In order to obtain a doctorate degree, students must successfully complete the seminar, proficiency exam, thesis proposal, specialization course, and thesis studies, along with 21 credits of courses with a minimum letter grade of CB, and an academic achievement score of at least 3 out of 4.

Post-Graduation Work Opportunities: Graduates of the program can have a doctorate title and can pursue an academic career as a faculty member at universities, or they can be employed in institutions and organizations in all sectors engaged in economic activities. They can also work as specialists in the state's economic planning and enforcement agencies. Although job opportunities are quite wide; There are career opportunities in banking, domestic and foreign trade, auditing, and management.

Master's Program with Thesis

Purpose of the Program: Within the scope of this program, the scientific research activities of our universities, which are among the main duties, are brought to a better level in our department, meeting the needs of people who want to specialize in economics, training the academic staff needed by the growth of the relevant departments of our department and other universities, and the experience gained in the graduate education in our department. to be transferred to the doctoral program. While these goals are being realized, scientific and technological developments in the world and in our country, and the main economic problems that constitute the agenda of the country and the world, are closely followed by the faculty members of the department. In order to reflect these developments to the students, the faculty members of the department open new courses in their fields of expertise and identify a thesis, seminar, and project topics.

Importance of the Program: The program is important in terms of educating economists who have sufficient knowledge in the theoretical and applied fields of economics, who can closely monitor the economic and social developments in our country and the world, who can make predictions by interpreting sector and country data, and which will broaden the research horizon of economics. will contribute to scientific activities.

Application Requirements: All 4-year faculty and college graduates can apply to the program. Students who have not taken sufficient courses in economics from the graduates of faculties other than the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the like are subject to a 2-semester scientific preparation program. In addition, applicants must have a minimum ALES EA score of 55.

Graduation Requirements: The program consists of a total of 9 courses, a seminar course and specialization courses to be taken during the thesis study. Seminar course, specialization course, and thesis work are non-credit, and students are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. In order to receive a master's degree, students must successfully complete a 27-credit course with a minimum CB letter grade, as well as a seminar, specialization course, and thesis, meet the 120 ECTS requirement and have at least 3 out of 4 academic achievement grades.

In order to reflect these developments to the students, faculty members of the department open new courses in their fields of expertise and identify seminar and project topics.

Importance of the Program: The program is important in terms of educating economists who have sufficient knowledge in the theoretical and applied fields of economics, who can closely monitor the economic and social developments in our country and the world, who can make predictions by interpreting sector and country data, and which will broaden the research horizon of economics. will contribute to scientific activities. At the same time, it will have a positive impact on the careers of public and private sector personnel who are currently employed and want to rise in the task.

Application Requirements: All faculties and college graduates can apply to the program. ALES and foreign language score requirements are not required for student admission to the program. However, 10% of ALES and YDS and 80% of undergraduate grade point average are considered in determining the entrance exam score.

Graduation Requirements: The program consists of a total of 10 courses and a Term Project course to be taken during the term project. The success grade of the courses must be at least CC and the academic success grade must be at least 2.50 out of 4.00. The student must register for the term project in the semester in which the term project is received and submit a written report at the end of the term.
